For memory care specifically, no survey publishes a private-pay figure — no national survey publishes memory care as its own category, so every figure you will find is an estimate built from someone's own sample. Published national estimates for 2025–26 run from about $6,690 to $8,019 a month, a spread of nearly a fifth, and at least one widely-repeated number is credited to a survey that does not measure it. What Oregon does publish is what Medicaid pays for an endorsed memory-care unit: $6,480 a month, effective July 1, 2026 (Oregon ODHS), plus $773 room and board from the resident's own income. That is the state's rate, not a private-pay quote — but it is a real, current, checkable number, which is more than the market figures can offer.
